Children's Books

The advanced art class explored Children's Book Illustrators as a career to consider in the art field. They wrote stories that demonstrated good morals such as "It's good to be clean", "don't bully" and "making friends" then illustrated the stories. The artist Eric Carle was our inspiration for the illustrations. They used painted paper to illustrate the stories. The students had a great time reading the books to a first grade class this morning. After the stories were read, the first graders discussed the themes in each story since they are currently studying "themes." Then the first graders shared some of the stories that they wrote.
